Trudy Barnett, Owner After 4 years at a wax bar in Baton Rouge, two of those years as Wax Bar Manager, I decided to go out on my own. Waxing is my fourth career. I have managed clothing stores, worked as a project administrator at an architecture firm and dipped my toe into theatre and commercial acting. Waxing is, by far, my favorite. I get to make my clients feel nice about themselves while creating relationships with each of them, as most people see me once a month to take care of all of that unwanted hair.
About the waxing… I use hard wax for Brazilians and sensitive areas and strip wax on larger surface areas of the body. I ask that before your first waxing appointment, you let your hair grow out for a minimum of 2 weeks so the wax will have something to grab onto.
Waxing isn’t the most pleasurable experience, especially for your first ever wax. So, I recommend taking a couple of Tylenol about an hour before your first waxing appointment. As you continue to wax on a regular basis, the pain will get much more manageable. A first time waxer has 3 cycles of hair growth. If you continue to wax on a regular 4 to 6 week basis, these 3 cycles sync into 1 cycle.
Less hair is a beautiful thing, and it is also less painful to remove. You will typically be completely smooth for 2 weeks, the hair begins to grow back on week 3, and you are ready to wax again by week 4. If you require any additional information, please don’t hesitate to call with any questions!
